Abstract:

Tato práce je analýzou kreativních a normalizujích strategií českého a slovenského překladu knihy Arundhati Royové Bůh maličkostí. Zkoumá a porovnává strategie, které využívají dvě překladatelky, Michaela Lauschmannová a Veronika Redererová, při překladu respektujícím kreativitu originálu, a také strategie, které jeho kreativitu normalizují. Porovnává jejich přístup k překladu, jazyku a kreativním prvkům v překladu. Zaměřuje se také na vliv posunů, které nastaly během překladu, a zkoumá míru, do jaké se změnil význam textu. Dále sleduje, do jaké míry překlad zachovává všechny významové roviny a funkce původního díla.

Abstract:

This work provides an analysis of the creative and normalizing strategies of the Czech and Slovak translations of Arundhati Roy’s The God of Small Things. It studies and compares the normalizing and creative strategies of the two translators: Michaela Lauschmannová and Veronika Redererová. The work further compares the translator’s attitudes to translation, language and creative passages of the source text. It also studies the influence of the shifts that occurred during the translation process, and studies the degree of their influence on the target text. Finally, it examines the transfer of all kinds of meaning and functions of the source text.
