Development of Information and Communication Technologies in the Context of the Regional policy of Czech Republic

Abstract:

Práce pojednává o rozvoji informačních a komunikačních technologií v kontextu regionální politiky České republiky. Teoretická část práce popisuje významné koncepty regionální politiky, regionálního rozvoje a význam informačních a komunikačních technologií v moderní společnosti. Na základě analýzy strategických dokumentů jsou určeny prioritní principy rozvoje ICT a dále analyzovány v sektoru domácností, podniků a veřejném sektoru. Práce shledává, že výsledky pozorovaných ukazatelů se v regionech liší. Praha a Jihomoravský kraj dosahuje ve většině měření nejvyšších hodnot. Naopak nejnižších příček dosáhly kraje Ústecký a Olomoucký. Na základě dostupných dat práce potvrzuje hypotézu významných regionálních disparit v rozvoji ICT.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis is focused on development of information and communication technologies in a context of the regional policy of the Czech Republic. Theoretical part describes important conceptions of regional competitiveness, regional development and importance of information and communication technologies in modern society. Main development principles are identified based on analysis of strategic documents. Moreover, three sectors were analysed: ICT by households, ICT in the business sector and ICT in the public administration sector. Thesis finds the results differ for some regions. Prague and South Moravian region reach the highest values in most of the measurements. However, there are Ústecký and Olomoucký region on the other side of rank. On the basis of available data the thesis confirms the hypothesis of significant regional disparities in ICT development.
