Function and Position of Particles in Modern Greek

Abstract:

Ve své bakalářské diplomové práci s názvem „Funkce a postavení částic v novořečtině“ jsem se pokusila o klasifikaci novořeckých částic ára, gár, ge, díthen, kaíti, lipón a novořeckých spojek men ... de, které se nám zachovaly z klasické řečtiny (v případě lipón z helénistického období). V úvodních kapitolách jsem krátce charakterizovala české částice a řecké částice od klasického a helénistického období po současnost. Hlavním cílem mé práce bylo zjistit, jak se tyto částice a spojky používají v novořečtině, které významy si zachovali z klasické řečtiny, popř. z helénistického období, jaká je jejich četnost. Pro tyto účely jsem využila novořeckou databázi ETHEG, ze které jsem vybrala vhodné příklady, na kterých jsem ukázala použití těchto částic a spojek.

Abstract:

In my bachelor thesis titled „Function and Position of Particles in Modern Greek" I attempted for a classification of Modern Greek particles ára, gár , ge, díthen, kaíti , lipón and Modern Greek conjunctions men ... de, which have been preserved from the Classical Greek (or from the Hellenic era considering lipón). In the initial chapters I briefly characterised Czech particles and Greek particles since the Classical and Hellenic era to the present. The main aim of my essay was to reveal how these particles and conjunctions are being used in Modern Greek, which meanings they have conserved from Classical Greek (or Hellenic Greek) and what their frequency is. For these purposes I have used the database ETHEG, from which I have chosen suitable examples, on which I have demonstrated the usage of these particles and conjunctions.
