Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce je prozkoumat vztah mezi general self-efficacy leadera, efektivitou leadera a transformačním stylem chování. První část je věnována úvodu do problematiky, který představuje rele-vantní výzkumy věnující se self-efficacy leadera, představuje transformační leadership a opírá se o poznatky vztahující se k efektivitě leadera. Na základě získaných poznatků jsem předpokládala, že general self-efficacy leadera pozitivně souvisí s jeho efektivitou a mírou transformačního leadershipu, proto byl sestaven teoretický model, který předpokládá, že transformační styl chování mediuje vztah mezi general self-efficacy leadera a efektivitou leadera. Výzkum proběhl v české výrobní firmě a zúčastnilo se jej 31 manažerů, kteří vyplnili sebehodnoticí dotazník, týkající se jejich general self-efficacy. Následně byli tito manažeři hodnoceni jejich podřízenými. K hodnocení transformačního chování byl využit dotazník vycházející z teorie transformačního leadershipu, k měření efektivity leadera byly využity dva ukazatele: leader emergence a vnímaná efektivita leadera. Předpokládaný vztah mezi general self-efficacy leadera a mírou transformačního chování nebyl potvrzen, stejně tak nebyla nalezena dostatečná podpora pro vztah mezi general self-efficacy leadera a efektivitou leadera. Mediační analýza tak nebyla provedena.

Abstract:

The goal of this thesis is to explore the relationship between general self-efficacy of a leader, the effectiveness of a leader and transformational style of behaviour. The first part si devoted to the introduction, which presents relevant research delaing with the self-efficacy of a leader, incorporates transformational leadership and is based on findings related to the effectiveness to the leader. Based on the acquired knowledge, we presumed that general self-efficacy of a leader was positively related to its level of efficiency and the estimate of transformational leadership. Therefore, we have compiled a theoretical model, which assumes that the transformational style of behaviour mediates the relationship between the leader´s general self-efficacy and the effectiveness of a leader. The research was conducted in a Czech manufacturing company and was attended by 31 managers who completed a self-assesment questionnaire concerned with their general self-efficacy. Consequently, these managers were rated by their subordinates. To evaluate the transformational behaviour, a questionnaire based on the theory of transformational leadership was used. To measure the effectiveness of a leader we have apllied indicators of leader emergence and perceived effectiveness of a leader. Expected relationship between general self-efficacy and the extent of transformational behaviour was not confirmed, equally was not found sufficient support for the relationship between general self-efficacy and the extent of transformational behaviour was not confirmed, equally was not found sufficient support for the relationship between general self-efficacy of a leader and the effectiveness of a leader. Similarly, neither was found a satisfactory support for providing the meadiation analysis.
