The aim of this thesis is to compare German idioms in the publication by Michal Viewegh "Román pro ženy" with the German translation by Johanna Posset and Hanna Vintr "Roman für Frauen". The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part presents definitions of the key concepts regarding the topic of phraseology and translation. Cílem této magisterské diplomové práce je srovnat frazémy v díle Michala Viewegha "Román pro ženy" s německým překladem od Johanny Posset a Hanny Vintr "Roman für Frauen". Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí. V první části uvádím definice hlavních frazeologických pojmů a zabývám se teorií překladu. V druhé části následuje kompletní analýza 101 vybraných frazeologismů.
