The Development of Administration of Chosen University Hospitals in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce je analyzovat a porovnat situaci v hospodaření vybraných fakultních nemocnic v České republice. Konkrétně se jedná o Fakultní nemocnici Královské Vinohrady, Všeobecnou fakultní nemocnici, Fakultní nemocnici Motol, Fakultní nemocnici Na Bulovce a Fakultní Thomayerovu nemocnici.Tyto nemocnice budou zkoumány v časovém intervalu od roku 1990 do roku 2010, toto období je z hlediska statistické průkaznosti dostatečně dlouhé a dává tedy možnost objektivně analyzovat vývoj v jednotlivých nemocnicích a následně je porovnat. Financování resortu zdravotnictví v České republice je dlouhodobým problémem. Tento resort představuje nemalou položku jak ve výdajích státního rozpočtu, tak i daňových poplatníků, a vzhledem k tomu, že fakultní nemocnice jsou největší zdravotnická zařízení v České republice, bude určitě zajímavé a je nanejvýš potřebné se zabývat jejich hospodařením. V teoretické části bakalářské práce jsou uvedeny pojmy a definice, které jsou v práci dále užívány. Fakultní nemocnice jsou příspěvkové organizace Ministerstva zdravotnictví, a proto je zde provedena charakteristika fungování státních institucí vykonávajících hospodářskou činnost a jsou zde popsána jejich specifika. Dále bude z teoretického hlediska charakterizováno hospodaření subjektů a základní parametry finanční analýzy. V analytické části práce budou analyzovány vybrané ekonomické parametry a hospodářské výsledky vybraných fakultních nemocnic a další důležité neekonomické parametry, které do velké míry ovlivňují samotné hospodaření. Výsledkem práce bude celkové zhodnocení a porovnání efektivity hospodaření jednotlivých nemocnic a doporučení na zlepšení hospodaření nejen v oblasti ekonomické.

Abstract:

The target of the Bachelor thesis is to analyze and compare the situation in administration of chosen University Hospitals in the Czech Republic. (This is) specifically about Fakultní nemocnice Královské Vinohrady, Všeobecná fakultní nemocnice, Fakultní nemocnice Motol, Fakultní nemocnice Na Bulovce and Fakultní Thomayerova nemocnice. These hospitals will be studied in the interval from 1990 to 2010, this period is sufficiently long from the point of view of a statistical conclusion and it gives us the posibility to analyze the development in each hospital objectively and then to compare it. The funding of the department of health care in the Czech Republic is a long-lasting problem. This department represents a significant item in the government expenditures and also in the expenditures of taxpayers in fact that the University Hospitals are the biggest medical centres in the Czech Republic, it is will be really interesting and useful to analyze theirs administrations. In the theoretical part of the Bachelor thesis there are mentioned the terms and definitions which are mostly used in this thesis. The University Hospitals are contributory organizations of Ministry of Health and that is why I will characterize the running of the state institutions which do the economic activities and I will describe thein specifics. Then I will characterize the administrativ of these subjects of the theoretical point of view and the fundamental parameters of the financial analysis. In the analytical part I will analyze the chosen economic parameters and the economic outcomes of chosen hospitals and other non-economic parameters which influence theirs own administration. The result of the thesis will be the complete evaluation and the comparison of the effectivity of administration in each hospital and my recommendations of improvement not only in the economic area.
