The influence of parents' education and age on the way of upbringing in the family

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce bylo zjistit, jaký vliv má věk a vzdělání rodičů na percipovaný způsob výchovy v rodině. Výzkumný soubor tvořilo 102 studentů vysokých škol, z toho 76 žen a 26 mužů. Naše hlavní předpoklady o vztahu mezi vnímaným způsobem výchovy v rodině a vzděláním a věkem rodičů se v naší studii nepotvrdily ani v jednom ze zkoumaných jevů. Ukázalo se však, že emoční vztah matek je na rozdíl od otců vnímán častěji jako extrémně kladný. U obou rodičů zvlášť i v rodině jako celku převažovalo slabé výchovné řízení. Co se týče celkového způsobu výchovy v rodině, nejvíce zastoupeno bylo třetí pole, tedy pesimální forma výchovy. Z hlediska pohlaví se nám nepodařily prokázat významné rozdíly. Podařilo se nám zjistit vztah mezi hrubým skórem komponenty požadavků a úrovní dosaženého vzdělání otce a mezi hrubým skórem kladné komponenty výchovy a úrovní dosaženého vzdělání matky.

Abstract:

The aim of the bachelor's thesis was to find out the influence of parents' age and education on the perceived way of upbringing in the family. The research sample consisted of 102 university students, 76 females and 26 males. Our main assumptions about the relationship between the perceived manner of upbringing in the family and the parents' education and age were not confirmed in any of the phenomena examined in our study. However, it turned out that the emotional relationship of mothers was more often perceived as extremely positive than that of fathers. Weak educational control was prevalent in both parents separately and in the family as a whole. Regarding the overall form of parenting in the family, the third field, the pessimistic form of parenting, was the most represented. In terms of gender, we could not find significant differences. We were able to find a relationship between the raw score of the demands component and the father's level of education and between the raw score of the positive parenting component and the mother's level of education.
