The credit rating of government bonds

Abstract:

Diplomová práce pojednává o působení ratingových agentur na evropském trhu. První část je věnována charakteristice ratingu a jeho funkcí. Zaměřuje se na historii ratingových agentur, nejvýznamnější ratingové agentury tzv. "Velkou trojku", postup agentur při ratingového procesu a případné rozdíly v přístupech "Velké trojky". Jedna kapitola se zaobírá vládním ratingem. Druhá část se zabývá vývojem ratingu ve vybraných evropských zemích v období eurokrize. Předmětem výkladu jsou rovněž vybrané problémy ratingových agentur a jejich regulace.

Abstract:

The thesis discusses the effect of credit rating agencies in the European market. The first part is devoted to the characterization rating and its functions. It focuses on the history of rating agencies, the largest rating agencies, called the "Big Three", procedure agencies in the rating process and possible differences in the approaches of the "Big Three". One chapter deals with the sovereign rating. The second part deals with the development of credit ratings of some European countries in the euro crisis. The subject of interpretation are also selected problems of rating agencies and their regulation.
