Well-being in emerging adults: The influence of individual’s romantic status and their financial communication and financial situation on their life satisfaction, depressive symptoms, general happiness and self-esteem

Abstract:

Cílem mé diplomové práce je popsání vztahu mezi romantickým statusem vynořujících se dospělých, jejich finanční komunikací, finančním well-beingem a osobní pohodou. Zaměřuji se i na popis samotné romantické a finanční situace vynořujících se dospělých. Respondenti jsou rozděleni na základě svého romantického statusu do tří skupin. Osobní pohoda je měřena pomocí čtyř konstruktů, a to životní spokojenost, všeobecné štěstí, sebeúcta a depresivní symptomy. Na základě romantického statusu se u některých konstruktů osobní pohody prokázaly rozdíly. Výsledky také potvrdily některé rozdíly v četnosti finanční komunikace s rozdílnými komunikačními partnery na základě rozdílných romantických či finančních proměnných. Byl potvrzen vztah mezi subškálou subjektivního finančního well-beingu a osobní pohodou. Většina vztahů mezi četností komunikace se subškálou subjektivního finančního well-beingu byly statisticky nevýznamné, případně statisticky významné vztahy byly zanedbatelné či nepříliš těsné.

Abstract:

The aim of my diploma thesis is to describe the relationship between the romantic status of emerging adults, their financial communication, financial well-being, and well-being. I also focus on the description of the very romantic and financial situation of emerging adults. Respondents are divided into three groups based on their romantic status. Well-being is measured using four constructs, namely life satisfaction, general happiness, self-esteem, and depressive symptoms. There were found differences in some constructs of well-being based on romantic status. The results confirmed some differences in the frequency of financial communication with different communication partners based on different romantic or financial variables. The relationship between the subscale of subjective financial well-being and well-being has been confirmed. Most of the relationships between frequency of communication with the subscale of subjective financial well-being were statistically insignificant, or statistically significant relations were negligible or not very close.
