Game development with implementation of free to play payment model on Android platform

Abstract:

Cílem práce je poskytnout přehled možností monetizace aplikací na platformě Android a zhodnotit jejich výhody a nevýhody. Dále přiblížit různé aspekty vývoje aplikací na této platformě. Hlavním cílem práce je vyvinout mobilní aplikaci, která bude demonstrovat možnost nákupu virtuálního zboží přímo ve hře. Práce je rozdělena do několika kapitol. V té úvodní jsou přiblíženy technologie, které byly v práci použity. Následuje kapitola s jednotlivými možnostmi monetizace, jež bere v úvahu nejen mobilní trh. Kapitola pátá popisuje různé aspekty vývoje aplikace na platformě Android. Praktická část práce se zabývá samotným vývojem herní aplikace s možností platby za virtuální zboží a její distribucí skrze internetové tržiště Google Play. Hlavním přínosem této práce je osvětlení postupů při tvorbě herní aplikace na platformě Android spolu s implementací free to play platebního modelu.

Abstract:

The objective of this thesis is to give an overview of possibilities of monetizing an application on Android platform and to evaluate its advantages and disadvantages. Next objective is to describe aspects of developing applications on this platform. The main goal of this thesis is to develop a mobile application, which will demonstrate the possibility of in-app payments. The thesis is divided into several chapters. The first one describes which technologies were used. Next chapter is about particular possibilities of monetization, which take into consideration not only the mobile market. This thesis then describes different aspects of developing an application on Android platform. The practical part deals with the development of a mobile game application with in-app payments and its distribution through Google Play -- an internet marketplace. The main benefit of this thesis is an explanation of procedures of making game application on Android platform with implementation of free to play payment system.
