Online connectivity of cars - threats and risks in relation to crisis management in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Automobilový svět tak, jak jej známe, se v současné době velmi dynamicky mění. Jednou z klíčových oblastí, kde se v blízké budoucnosti očekávají nejvýznamnější změny, je oblast digitalizace s využitím online konektivity osobních vozů. Cílem práce bylo popsat a vyhodnotit nejvýznamnější hrozby a rizika spojená s technologií online konektivitou osobních vozů. Z výsledků pak objektivně stanovit, zda nové digitální technologie v osobních vozech mohou být považovány za významnou antropogenní hrozbu, se kterou musí být v budoucnu počítáno v systému krizového řízení ČR, a zda je tedy v této oblasti nutné definovat nové postupy. Teoretická část shrnuje současný stav poznání v oblasti konektivity vozů a v oblasti bezpečnostního systému ČR. Analytická část práce je založena na metodě rizikové analýzy UMRA s uplatněním kvalitativních tvůrčích metod, jako např. brainstorming a získávání odpovědí expertů, a kvantitativního posouzení rizika.

Abstract:

The automotive world as we know it is currently changing very dynamically. One of the key areas where major changes are expected in the near future is digitization using online connectivity of passenger cars. The aim of this thesis is to describe and evaluate the most important threats and risks associated with the online connectivity technology of cars. Subsequently, on the basis of obtained results, to determine objectively whether new digital technologies in passenger cars can be considered a significant anthropogenic threat which must be taken into account within the Crisis Management System of the Czech Republic in the future, and whether it is therefore necessary to define new procedures in this area. The theoretical part summarizes the current state of knowledge in the field of car connectivity and security system in the Czech Republic. The analytical part of the thesis is based on the UMRA risk analysis method with the application of qualitative creative methods, such as brainstorming and obtaining expert answers, as well as quantitative risk assessment.
