Comparing SaaS e-Shops for small and middle business unit

Abstract:

Cílem této práce je porovnat nabídky několika provozovatelů řešených elektronických obchodů realizovaných na principu modelu SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) a následně vybrat nejvhodnější projekt pro malou, resp. střední českou firmu uvažující o nasazení e-Commerce. Práce je rozdělena do pěti kapitol, začíná vymezením problému a jeho obecnou charakteristikou. Následující dvě kapitoly se věnují teoretickým aspektům e-Commerce a SaaS, jsou definovány základní rysy a stručně je popsána historie i technologie stojící v pozadí. Další kapitola se již věnuje samotnému porovnávání jednotlivých projektů. Jsou zde stanovena kritéria pro výběr jednotlivých poskytovatelů a definovány metriky pro jejich hodnocení. Výstupem této kapitoly je pořadí nejvhodnějších řešení jak pro malou, tak i pro střední českou firmu. Pátá kapitola je zaměřena na popis praktické implementace tohoto řešení, konkrétně na implementaci pro malou českou firmu zabývající se prodejem zahradnických potřeb. Jsou popsány specifické požadavky firmy a odhadován budoucí dopad na její hospodaření. Závěr se věnuje shrnutí práce a odhadu vývoje modelu SaaS.

Abstract:

The goal of this bachelor project is to compare offers of a few e-Commerce (e-Shop) solutions which are realized as SaaS (Software-as-a-Service). After this comparison, I will try to chaose the most suitable e-Commerce projects for small and middle business units (SMUs). The project is divided into five sections. The first part starts with a definition and description of the problem. The following two sections include the theoretical aspects of SaaS and e-Commerce. There are defined the basic features and there is also written something about history and technology of these models. The next part deals with mentioned comparison of several e-Shop projects. There are defined the criterias for choosing of the individual providers and the metrics for evaluation. The output from this part is the order of the best e-Shop solutions for the Czech SMUs. The fifth section is aimed at a description of a practical e-Shop implementation. Concretely, the implementation is used for small Czech firm which deals in gardening. There are described the specific requirements of the company and estimated a future impacts on its economy. The conclusion sums up the bachelor project and there is also estimated an evolution of the SaaS model.
