Energy storage converter control of tram vehicle

Abstract:

Předkládaná diplomová práce se zabývá vhodnou regulací měniče akumulátoru v tramvajovém vozidle. Pro získání řešení bylo zapotřebí vytvořit kinematický model tramvajového vozidla. Jeho výstupem byl průběh odebíraného výkonu z trakčního vedení. Dále bylo nutné zhotovit výkonový model tramvaje. Jeho vstupem byl odebíraný výkon z trakčního vedení. Pro regulaci toku energie akumulačním systémem ve výkonovém modelu tramvaje byly zvoleny tři strategie. Akumulační systém byl založený na reálném modulu ze superkondenzátorů. Každá strategie byla navíc simulována pro různou kapacitu akumulačního systému. Výstupem z výkonového modelu byly energie. Spotřebované energie se zvolenými strategiemi byly porovnány s referenční spotřebovanou energií tramvajového vozidla. Simulována byla trať s nízkou hustotou provozu, tedy pro ideální případ zakázané rekuperace, kdy mohla být veškerá energie získaná při brzdění akumulována do akumulačního systému. Provedeným výzkumem bylo zjištěno, že metoda omezení špičkových proudů umožňuje úsporu spotřebované energie až 39 % při maximální kapacitě akumulačního systému. Proporční strategie dosahuje úspor až 49 % spotřebované energie při maximální kapacitě akumulačního systému. Na úspory strategie středního odebíraného výkonu se musí pohlížet ze dvou stran. Na jedné straně měla strategie stanoveny parametry takové, že se chovala jako čistě proporční a dosáhla tedy stejných úspor. Avšak při úpravě parametrů tak, aby se dosáhl účel této strategie, se úspora dramaticky snižovala. Hlavním zjištěním je tedy značná úspora spotřebované energie s prvními dvěma testovanými strategiemi na tratích s nízkou hustotou provozu.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis is focused on control of energy storage converter of tram vehicle. It was necessary to create kinematic model of tram vehicle. Output of this model was required traction power. Next step was power model of tram. Input of power model was required traction power. For the control of the energy flow in power model, three different strategies were chosen. The storage system was based on a real supercapacitor module. Each of the strategy was simulated for different capacity of the storage system. Output of the power model were energies. Consumed energies with enabled strategy were then compared to the referential consumed energy of tram vehicle without a strategy. Simulated route was based on low traffic density, therefore ideal case of forbidden recuperation. In that case, all the energy created during braking was accumulated in storage system. With this research done, it was found that peak shaving strategy saved up to 39 % of the consumed energy. The best result was of course achieved with maximum capacity of the storage system. Next strategy, the proportional strategy, saved up to 49% of the consumed energy with the maximum capacity of the storage system. Provided saves of the strategy called mean power are less or equal to the saves of proportional strategy. The reason is setting of the strategy. On one boundary of the setting, mean power strategy behaves as proportional strategy, therefore saves are equal. With changing that setting, saves are decreasing significantly. Main discovery of this diploma thesis is considerable save of consumed energy with two strategies. However, they can be applicable only on route with low traffic density.
