The regional difference of the funeral rite in the western part of the Lengyel circuit

Abstract:

Práce kompletuje informace o pohřbech v západní části lengyelského kulturního okruhu, tedy obsahuje údaje z území Moravy, Rakouska, Čech, středního Německa a Slezska. Pokud se jedná o pohřební ritus (ať již kostrový či žárový), je možno jej chápat jako určitou pospolitost, charakterizovanou především absencí velkých pohřebišť, typických pro východnější lengyelské regiony. Základem práce je abecedně uspořádaný soupis lokalit (díl II. ― katalog). Jednotlivé položky katalogu sledují kromě identifikačních údajů, archivních pramenů a relevantní literatury, také detailní údaje. Způsoby uložení, vzájemné vztahy, orientace pohřbu a antropologická data, včetně hrobové výbavy, byly statisticky vyhodnoceny podle jednotlivých území, aby pak dohromady vytvořily obraz nejen o zacházení se zesnulými, ale také vyjádřily rozdíly spojené s pohřebním ritem v západní společnosti lengyelské kultury.

Abstract:

The thesis compiles information about burials in the western part of the Lengyel cultural circle, so it contains data from the territory of Moravia, Austria, Bohemia, Central Germany and Silesia. As far as a funeral rite is concerned (either burial or cremation), it can be understood as a certain community, characterized mainly by the absence of large burial necropolis, typical of the eastern Lengyel regions. The basis of the thesis is an alphabetically arranged list of localities (part II. ― catalog). In addition to identification data, archival sources and relevant literature, individual catalog items also monitor detailed data. The methods of storage, mutual relations, funeral orientation and anthropological data, including grave equipment, were statistically evaluated according to the concrete territories, which together create a picture not only of the treatment of the deceased, but also show the differences associated with funeral rites in Western Lengyel culture.
