Influence of Industry 4.0 on the labour market in the Czech republic

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá tématem čtvrté průmyslové revoluce, na jejíž popud firmy zavádí prvky Průmyslu 4.0. Tento trend přináší změny do celé společnosti a významným způsobem ovlivní trh práce. V první části autor popisuje historický vývoj, systémy a koncepty Průmyslu 4.0. V druhé části je uvedena analýza zaměstnanosti v ekonomických sektorech ČR. Dále je pak definován koncept Práce 4.0, který mění obecný pohled na výkon zaměstnání a podmínky na trhu práce. Třetí část se věnuje dopadu digitalizace na trh práce ČR. Poslední kapitola je věnována dotazníkovému šetření, které ověřuje platnost hypotéz sestavených na základě studie Iniciativa Práce 4.0, zpracované v roce 2015 Národním vzdělávacím fondem, a teoretické části práce v kontextu dnešní společnosti. Tři ze čtyř hypotéz byly potvrzeny, což ukazuje na obecně nedostatečnou úroveň znalosti pojmu Průmysl 4.0 i v rámci profesí, které jsou digitalizací přímo ohroženy. Zároveň byl na omezeném vzorku respondentů potvrzen i přetrvávající mezigenerační rozdíl v IT gramotnosti, která bude pro implementaci Průmyslu 4.0 v ČR klíčová.

Abstract:

The following bachelor thesis focuses on the topic of the fourth industrial revolution, which is the reason for companies to introduce elements of the Industry 4.0 concept. This digitalisation trend changes the whole society and has a great influence on the labour market. In the first part, the author describes historical development, systems and concepts of the Industry 4.0. The second part contains an analysis of employment in economic sectors of the Czech Republic. The concept of Labour 4.0, which changes the way we see labour and the overall conditions on labour market, is also described. The third part is dedicated to the influence of digitalisation on the labour market of the Czech Republic. In the last chapter, a survey focused on confirmation of the hypotheses based on the government study Initiative Labour 4.0 created in 2015 by the National training fund, and on the theoretical part of this thesis in the context of today’s society. Three of the four hypotheses were confirmed, which indicates a commonly low level of knowledge of the Industry 4.0 concept also within the fields which are directly threated by the digitalisation process. Also, an intergenerational gap in the IT skills which will be key for the further introduction of the Industry 4.0 concept is shown to be prevailing.
