Financial Literacy of Children in Institutional Care

Abstract:

Tématem bakalářské práce je finanční gramotnost dětí v ústavní péči. Cílem práce je získat informace o úrovni finanční gramotnosti u dětí v ústavní péči a porovnat je s úrovní, kterou mají děti vyrůstající v prostředí s rodinným zázemím. V teoretické části jsou stručně diskutovány základní pojmy a stávající podoba koncepce finančního vzdělávání v České republice. Obsah teoretické části je navíc s ohledem na téma doplněn o důležité informace týkající se rodiny a ústavní péče. Část praktická je následně věnována výzkumnému procesu a jeho dílčím fázím, který byl uplatněn pro sběr dat a jejich vyhodnocení. Komparací získaných informací bylo zjištěno, že prostředí, ve kterém dítě vyrůstá, svou roli sehrává pouze v dílčích oblastech finančního vzdělávání. Nicméně při celkovém srovnání hodnocených skupin nebyl zaznamenán významný vliv prostředí na budování komplexní finanční gramotnosti.

Abstract:

The topic of the bachelor thesis is the financial literacy of children in institutional care. The aim of the bachelor's thesis is to obtain information on the level of financial literacy of children in institutional care and to compare it with the level that children have growing up in an environment with family background. The theoretical part briefly discusses the basic concepts and the current form of the concept of financial education in the Czech Republic. In addition, the content of the theoretical part is supplemented with important information concerning family and institutional care. The practical part is then devoted to the research process and its partial phases, which were used for data collection and evaluation. Comparing the information obtained, it was found that the environment in which the child grows up plays a role only in the sub-areas of financial education. However, in the overall comparison of the evaluated groups, no significant influence of the environment on the building of comprehensive financial literacy was recorded.
