Potential for inbound Tourism from South Korea to the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Cílem této práce je prognóza budoucího vývoje příjezdového cestovního ruchu z Jižní Koreje do České republiky. V rámci hloubkového rozhovoru s zástupcem agentury CzechTourism v Jižní Koreji a pracovníkem cestovní kanceláře je zkoumán komplexní pohled na trendy a preference jihokorejského cestovního ruchu, což zahrnuje pochopení motivů, které vedou k výběru České republiky korejskými turisty, a jejich preferovaných destinací. Dále jsou zkoumány historické souvislosti, počáteční povědomí o Jižní Koreji v Československu a dlouholetá akademická a obchodní spolupráce mezi oběma národy. Analýza vývoje cestovního ruchu v posledních pěti letech mezi těmito dvěma národy je klíčovou částí této práce. Součástí analýzy je také SWOT analýza, zaměřená na identifikaci silných a slabých stránek cestovního ruchu v České republice. V závěru práce je představen potenciální vývoj příjezdového cestovního ruchu s důrazem na atraktivitu České republiky pro jihokorejský a asijský trh.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to forecast the future development of inbound tourism from South Korea to the Czech Republic. Through an in-depth interview with a representative from CzechTourism in South Korea and an employee from a travel agency, comprehensive insights are sought into trends and preferences in South Korean tourism. This encompasses an understanding of the motivations guiding Korean tourists' travel decisions and their favoured destinations within the Czech Republic. The study delves into historical context, tracing the early awareness of South Korea within Czechoslovakia and spotlighting the enduring academic and business collaboration between the two nations. Furthermore, an analysis of tourism development over the past five years between these countries is a pivotal aspect of this bachelor’s thesis. This analysis will also feature a SWOT analysis aimed at pinpointing the strengths and weaknesses of the tourism industry in the Czech Republic. The thesis concludes by presenting the potential development of inbound tourism with an emphasis on the attractiveness of the Czech Republic for the South Korean and Asian markets.
