Sustainability strategy in the selected area

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce je zaměřena na problematiku udržitelnosti v módním průmyslu, a to především z důvodu, že módní průmysl je jedno z největších odvětví, které s sebou přináší negativní sociální a enviromentální dopady. V první části práce jsou představeny teoretické základy v oblasti udržitelnosti. Představen je i módní průmysl včetně současných trendů v produkci a konzumaci módy. Ve druhé části je udržitelnost analyzována v prostředí podniku Horsefeathers, který se zabývá produkcí streetwearových a především outwearových oděvů. V této části jsou popsány konkrétní aktivity a přístupy podniku, které mají z pohledu udržitelnosti podstatný vliv. Výsledky analýzy jsou zhodnoceny a doplněny účelným doporučením. Hlavním výstupem je tedy představení strategie udržitelnosti v podniku Horsefeathers a následné zhodnocení, zda se podnik s myšlenkami udržitelného rozvoje ztotožňuje či ne. Tato práce může přispět k lepšímu porozumění této problematice. Práce vyobrazuje taktéž hlavní milníky, které jsou klíčové pro udržitelné podnikání. Z tohoto důvodu může práce sloužit jako způsob vhledu do problematiky pro podniky, které chtějí jít udržitelnější cestou.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis is focused on the issue of sustainability in the fashion industry, primarily because the fashion industry is one of the largest industries that brings with it negative social and environmental impacts. There are presented the theoretical foundations in the field of sustainability in the first part of this thesis. The fashion industry is also introduced, including current trends in the production and consumption of fashion. The sustainability is analyzed in the context of the company Horsefeathers which deals the production of streetwear and especially outwear clothing in the second part of this thesis. This section describes the company's specific activities and approaches, which have a significant impact from a sustainability point of view. The results of the analysis are evaluated and supported by recommendations. The main output is therefore the presentation of the sustainability strategy in the company Horsefeathers and the subsequent evaluation of whether the company identifies with the ideas of sustainable development or not. This work can contribute to a better understanding of this issue. The work also depicts the main milestones that are key to sustainable business. For this reason, the work can serve as a way to penetrate the issue for companies that want to go down a more sustainable path.
