3D Printing and its Use for Design and Production of Printed Ventilator Shutter

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá 3D tiskem a snaží se přiblížit tuto problematiku méně zasvě-ceným čtenářům. Rozebírá jednotlivé aspekty samotného tisku a ukazuje jeho sílu v praxi, a to především v kombinaci s dalšími technologiemi. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoretická část pojednává o základních principech aditivní výroby a skrze popis jednotlivých principů 3D tisku se přesouvá k používaným materiálům a jejich vlastnostem. Dále je rozebrán software, jehož použití je v tomto odvětví nezbytné. Vysvětluje, jaký markantní dopad má množství parametrů k nastavení na finální kvalitu výrobku. Praktická část práce se potom zabývá využitelností 3D tisku v praxi, kde při kombinaci s dalšími technologiemi tvoří daný výrobek prvek chytré domácnosti. Popisuje postup při jeho návrhu, tisk jako takový, sestavení, zdrojový kód a ověření funkčnosti celého řešení.

Abstract:

This thesis explores the field of 3D printing and strives to introduce this industry to readers who are perhaps less familiar with the matter. The paper analyses particular aspects of 3D printing and demonstrates its potential in practice, especially in combination with other technologies. The work is divided into the theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part summarizes basic principles of additive production and through describing particular principals, it ex-plores the common materials used for 3D printing and their properties. Following chapters contain the analysis of relevant software as its use is indispensable in this industry. The impact of quantity of parameters that can be set up for printing and its correlation with the quality of final product are clearly demonstrated. The practical part of the thesis focuses on the use of 3D printing in practice where when combined with other technologies the particular product constitutes a part of smart home. The process of the design of the product, the printing process, the final product completion, source code and the verification of the functionality of the solution is comprehensively described.
