Distributed generation of shared RSA keys

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá protokolem pro distribuované generování klíče pro kryptosystém RSA. K použití takto získaného klíče je potřeba spolupráce všech účastníků. Za předpokladu, že se všichni účastníci protokolem řídí, nemá libovolná menšina účastníků možnost zjistit soukromý klíč. Původní řešení tohoto problému by bylo vygenerování a rozdělení RSA klíče důvěryhodnou třetí stranou, která při použití tohoto protokolu není potřeba.

Abstract:

This thesis describes a protocol for distributed RSA key generation. Cooperation of all participants is neccessary to use the key every time. Assuming that all participants follow the protocol, no coalition of less than a half of the total number of participants can obtain the secret key. The classic way of obtaining shared RSA key would be asking a trusted dealer to generate the key and to split it to the participants. The need for trusted dealer is thus eliminated using this protocol.
