Inclusion barriers from the perspective of experts and immigrants

Abstract:

The objective of this thesis is to provide a comparison of views on the integration of immigrants into the labor market. This study explores the perspective of experts and immigrants based on the results of Immigrant Integration Survey 2015. The first part offers a short inside into the issue of international migration, defines the basic concepts and describes the development and current situation of immigration in the Czech Republic. The second part focuses on the migration policy, or its two main sub-areas – immigration policy and integration policy – both with regard to their theoretical basis, as well as their application in practice. The third chapter is devoted to the research of immigrant integration, and its primary focus is the description of the course and results of the IIS 2015. Attention is paid mainly to the comparison of outputs of two rounds of research – perception and obstacles to integration in the labor market from the perspective of experts (i.e. people representing organizations dealing in their daily practice with the issue of immigration) and from the standpoint of the migrants themselves. In the concluding part, the findings of this work are summarized, and the implications for actors of integration policies aimed at improving the situation of migrants on the Czech labor market are outlined.

Abstract:

Cieľom tejto diplomovej práce je na základe výsledkov Immigrant Integration Survey 2015 porovnať pohľad expertov a imigrantov na možnosti a prekážky, aké majú imigranti v oblasti integrácie na trhu práce. Prvá časť uvádza čitateľa do problematiky medzinárodnej migrácie, definuje základné pojmy a približuje vývoj i súčasnú situáciu prisťahovalectva v Českej republike. Druhá časť sa venuje migračnej politike, resp. jej dvom hlavným podoblastiam – politike prisťahovaleckej a politike integračnej – a to ako s dôrazom na ich teoretické ukotvenie, tak i na ich aplikáciu v praxi. Tretia kapitola je zameraná na výskum integrácie imigrantov a jej ťažiskom je popis priebehu a výsledkov IIS 2015. Pozornosť je venovaná predovšetkým komparácii výstupov dvoch kôl výskumu – vnímaniu integrácie a prekážok na trhu práce z pohľadu expertov (tj. osôb, resp. zástupcov organizácií, stretávajúcich sa vo svojej každodennej praxi s problematikou imigrácie) a z pohľadu samotných migrantov. V závere sú zhrnuté poznatky tejto práce a načrtnuté implikácie pre aktérov integračnej politiky v záujme zlepšenia situácie imigrantov na českom pracovnom trhu.
