The economic impacts of COVID-19 on one selected business

Abstract:

Diplomová práce „Ekonomické dopady pandemie COVID-19 na vybraný podnikatelský subjekt“ se zabývá problematikou pandemie koronaviru a jejími dopady na stavební společnost GLOB Production, s. r. o.. V teoretické části jsou vymezeny základní pojmy spojené s onemocněním COVID-19 a kroky podniknutými vládou České republiky (zejména přístupy k omezení šíření onemocnění a kompenzační programy na pomoc postiženým subjektům). V druhé polovině teoretické části jsou popsány základní definice spojené s prostředím podniku a finanční analýzou. Finanční analýza je zaměřena na horizontální a vertikální analýzu, poměrové ukazatele, souhrnné indexy hodnocení a rozbor pracovního kapitálu. Všechny oblasti jsou popsány pomocí související terminologie. V praktické části jsou provedeny analýzy vnějšího a vnitřního prostředí. Vnější prostředí je zkoumáno a hodnoceno pomocí PEST analýzy, Porterova modelu pěti sil a získaných dat z makroekonomického prostředí České republiky v roce 2020. Vnitřní prostředí firmy je zkoumáno pomocí metod finanční analýzy. Pro pochopení širších souvislostí spojených s ekonomickým vývojem společnosti byl proveden polostrukturovaný rozhovor s jednatelem firmy Ing. Petrem Simandlem. Všechna získaná data a informace byly souhrnně vyhodnoceny a bylo navrženo opatření v reakci na zjištěné ekonomické dopady.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis "Economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on one selected business" deals with the issue of the coronavirus pandemic and its impact on the construction company GLOB Production, Ltd. The theoretical part defines the basic concepts associated with COVID-19 and the steps taken in particular approaches to reducing the spread of the disease and compensation programs to help those affected). The second half of the theoretical part describes the basic definitions associated with the business environment and financial analysis. The financial analysis is focused on horizontal and vertical analysis, ratios, summary evaluation indices and working capital analysis. All areas are described using related terminology. In the practical part, analyses of the external and internal environment are performed. The external environment is examined and evaluated using PEST analysis, Porter's model of five forces and data obtained from the macroeconomic environment of the Czech Republic in 2020. The internal environment of the company is examined using methods of financial analysis. To understand the broader context associated with the economic development of the company, a semi-structured interview was conducted with the company's executive Ing. Petr Simandl. All obtained data and information were evaluated in summary and measures were proposed in response to the identified economic impacts.
