An Investigation of Parents´ and Pupils´ Attitudes Towards the Alternative Form of Learner Assessment

Abstract:

Tématem této diplomové práce je výzkum postojů žáků a rodičů souvisejících s realizací alternativní formy hodnocení žáků - slovního hodnocení. Toto hodnocení se využívá na několika školách v ČR a je uzákoněna jako jedna z možností školního hodnocení žáků spolu s klasifikací. V první části práce je popsáno obecné hodnocení, jeho funkce, význam a vztah k hodnotám. Dále se tato část podrobněji zabývá slovním hodnocením jako alternativou ke klasifikaci. Popisuje zásady, které by se při využívání této formy hodnocení měly respektovat, rozebírá rizika a také formulace, kterým by se učitelé při psaní slovního hodnocení měli vyhnout. Druhá část diplomové práce se věnuje výzkumu slovního hodnocení v praxi. Pomocí dotazníků a dalších materiálů využitých v průběhu realizace slovního hodnocení ve třídě byla provedena analýza postojů žáků a rodičů a zhodnoceny stanovené hypotézy. Součástí této části je i kapitola, ve které jsou uvedeny osobní postřehy diplomantky získané v průběhu realizace výzkumu.

Abstract:

The main point of this thesis is research of the attitudes of pupils and their parents to the alternative form of the pupils´ assessment - verbal assessment. This assessment is being used on the few schools in the Czech Republic. It is realized as one of the options for the pupils´ assessment, together with grading. In the first section of this thesis there is the verbal assessment described, its function and its relation to the personal values. This section also discusses the verbal assessment as an alternative to the grading. It describes the rules, which should be respected by verbal assessment, it analyses the risks and the phrasing, which should not to be used by teachers. The second section of this thesis is about the research about verbal assessment in the praxis. Using the questionnaires and other materials used during the implementation of the verbal assessment in the class, there were made the analysis of the attitudes of pupils and their parents and then there were evaluated the hypothesis. This section also contains a chapter, in which are shown the personal ideas and thoughts of the author got during the research.
