Elements of art therapy in the education of people with mental disability

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá tématem „Prvky arteterapie v psychopedii“. Je tvořena ze dvou částí, z teoretické a praktické. První kapitola teoretické části představuje terminologické vymezení postižení. Popisuje postižení, mentální postižení, poruchy autistického spektra a Downův syndrom. Druhá kapitola je věnována arteterapii. Líčí teoretická východiska arteterapie, její formy, přístupy, metody, výtvarné techniky a materiály a věnuje se arteterapii u osob s mentálním postižením a autismem. Poslední kapitola teoretické části vymezuje komunikační systémy ve speciální pedagogice. Věnuje se možnostem komunikace, alternativní a augmentativní komunikaci, komunikaci u osob s postižením a komunikaci ve výtvarném projevu. Praktická část představuje dvě případové studie osob s mentálním postižením (Downovým syndromem) a poruchou autistického spektra (Aspergerovým syndromem). Hlavním cílem výzkumného projektu byla analýza možností využití metod arteterapie v rámci rozvoje osobnosti člověka s mentálním postižením a autismem.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis analyses the use of art therapy in the education of people with mental disability. It consists of two parts. The first one is the theoretical part and it is divided in three chapter. The first chapter introduces the terminological definition of disability, mental disability, autism spectrum disorder and Down syndrome. The second shows terminological definition of art therapy, forms, approaches, methods, art techniques and art materials and focuses on art therapy for people with mental disabilities and autism. The last chapter defines the communication system in special education. It deals with the possibilities of communication, alternative and augmentative communication, communication with people with disabilities and communicate in creative expression. The second part, the practical, is focused on two case of studies of people with mental disability: Down syndrome and autism (Asperger’s syndrome). The main aim of the research was to analyze the possibility of using methods of art therapy in the development of human personality with mental disability and autism.
