3D printing of firearms: libertarian statement and symbol of resistance or potential threat?

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá fenoménem 3D tisku palných zbraní. Fenomén 3D tisku palných zbraní je v práci řešen v celé jeho komplexnosti. Práce řeší politizující hlediska a politizující dimenze 3D tisku palných zbraní a odpovídá na otázku, zda se 3D tiskem palných zbraní dají zaujímat politická stanoviska. Politická stanoviska, jenž se dají 3D tiskem palných zbraní zaujímat, jsou v práci uvedena a vysvětlena. Práce analyzuje komunitu, jenž se 3D tiskem palných zbraní zabývá (práce analyzuje zejména nejvýznamnější uskupení a nejvýznamnější jedince a motivace těchto uskupení a těchto jedinců). Práce se zabývá fenoménem 3D tisku palných zbraní hlavně v kontextu Spojených států amerických, kde je komunita věnující se 3D tisku palných zbraní nejpočetnější. Práce se zabývá tím, jak je 3D tisk palných zbraní v USA ovlivněn Prvním dodatkem a Druhým dodatkem Ústavy Spojených států amerických. V práci je řešeno, jakým způsobem je 3D tisk palných zbraní regulován na federální úrovni Spojených států amerických. Dále je porovnáno, jakým způsobem je 3D tisk palných zbraní regulován některými členskými státy Spojených států amerických. V práci je pojednáno i o bezpečnostní problematice fenoménu 3D tisku palných zbraní. V poslední části práce je navrženo řešení, jak se s fenoménem 3D tisku palných zbraní vypořádat (v kontextu Spojených států amerických).

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the phenomenon of 3D printing of firearms. The phenomenon of 3D printing of firearms is addressed in all its complexity. The thesis explores the politicizing aspects and politicizing dimensions of 3D printing of firearms and answers the question of whether political standpoints can be taken by 3D printing of firearms. Political standpoints that can be taken by 3D printing of firearms are presented and explained in the thesis. The thesis analyzes the community involved in 3D printing of firearms (in particular, this thesis analyzes the most important groupings and the most important individuals and the motivations of these groupings and of these individuals). The thesis deals with the phenomenon of 3D printing of firearms mainly in the context of the United States of America, where the community involved in 3D printing of firearms is the most numerous. The thesis deals with how 3D printing of firearms in the USA is affected by the First Amendment and the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution. The thesis deals with how 3D printing of firearms is regulated at the federal level of the United States of America. Furthermore, it is compared how 3D printing of firearms is regulated by some member states of the United States of America. The thesis also discusses the security problematics of the phenomenon of 3D printing of firearms. In the last part of the thesis, a solution of how to deal with the phenomenon of 3D printing of firearms is proposed (in the context of the United States of America).
