Some Chosen Problems of Solving the Conflicts of the United Nations

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá vybranými problémy při řešení konfliktů Organizace spojených národů, které v současném světě představují velmi diskutované téma. Hlavním cílem práce je poskytnout analýzu Charty OSN, poukázat na sporná místa v jejím textu a na základě toho identifikovat problémy OSN týkající se udržování mezinárodního míru a bezpečnosti. Teoretická část práce se věnuje liberálně-idealistické teorii a jejímu pohledu na problematiku bezpečnosti a představuje OSN jako obhájkyni míru v mezinárodních vztazích. Empirická část studie se zabývá analýzou jednotlivých formulací Charty OSN a jejich zhodnocením.

Abstract:

The thesis covers the topic of some chosen problems of solving the conflicts of the United Nations, which belong to the most discussed issues in nowadays world. The main aim of this thesis is to examine the UN Charter, to point out the controversial parts of its text and on this basis to identify the problems of the UN, which are connected to the area of maintaining international peace and security. The teoretical part deals with the liberal-idealistic theory and its view of the security, with the introduction of the UN and its aims and also with the structure of the UN Charter. The empirical part covers the analisis of the particular formulations of the UN Charter and its evaluation.
