Role of selected personality characteristics in choosing the occupation for students of economy and management

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se teoreticky i empiricky zabývá rolemi vybraných osobnostních rysů v profesní orientaci u vysokoškolských studentů ekonomie a managementu (n = 130). Cílem bylo ověřit roli nerozhodnosti (měřenou FIS) ve vztahu k obtížím (měřeným CDDQ) a naopak spokojeností při volbě studia. Dalším cílem práce bylo ověřit vztahy mezi nerozhodností a osobnostními rysy dle MBTI. Ve vybraných zkoumaných souvislostech byly zjišťovány i rozdíly a mužů a žen. Z výzkumu vyplynulo, že nerozhodnost souvisí s menší spokojeností se studiem a s většími obtížemi s jeho volbou. U žen bylo více nerozhodnosti, obtíží s volbou studia a méně spokojenosti s tímto studiem. V rámci MBTI dimenze Myšlení (T) a Vnímání (P) byla více zastoupena u mužů, naopak dimenze Introverze (I) a Usuzování (J) u žen. V rámci MBTI se prokázal ne příliš těsný vztah Introverze (I) a Cítění (F) k nerozhodnosti. U žen měla nerozhodnost těsnější negativní vztah se spokojeností se zvoleným VŠ studiem než u mužů. Byl prokázán vliv nerozhodnosti na spokojenost nebo nespokojenost s předešlou kariérním volbou.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis deals theoretically and empirically with the roles of selected personality traits in professional orientation for university students of economics and management (n = 130). The aim was to verify the role of trait indecisiveness (measured by FIS) in relation to difficulties (measured by CDDQ) and conversely satisfaction in choosing a filed of study. Another goal of was to verify the relationships between indecisiveness and personality traits according to MBTI. Differences between men and women were also found in selected contexts. The research showed that indecisiveness is related to less satisfaction with the study and more difficulty in choosing it. Women had more indecisiveness, difficulty choosing a study and less satisfaction with that study. Within the MBTI, the dimensions of Thinking (T) and Perception (P) were more represented in men, while the dimensions of Introversion (I) and Judgment (J) in women. Within the MBTI, Introversion (I) and Feeling (F) to indecisiveness related, but weakly. In women, indecisiveness had a closer negative relationship with satisfaction with the chosen university study than in men. The effect of indecision on satisfaction or dissatisfaction with the previous career choice was demonstrated.
