The Managerial Ethics for Information Professionals

Abstract:

Diplomová práce ,,Manažerská etika pro informační profesionály“ pojednává o etickém prostředí v informačním prostoru. Je zde nastíněna práce informačního pracovníka v řídícím postavení a možná etická dilemata, se kterými se může setkat. Na počátku mé práce je položena otázka, jakou důležitost přikládají etice členové organizace v rámci pracovního prostředí a jaký vliv má na etické chování zaměstnanců management. V první kapitole své práce se zabývám samou podstatou etiky, jejím významem, vývojem. Dále práce přechází k informační etice, která zastupuje naši etičnost v informačním prostředí. Třetí kapitolu věnuji informačním profesionálům a kompetencím, kterými by pracovníci s informacemi měli oplývat ve vedoucích postaveních. Poté už je na řadě popis manažerské etiky a její důležitosti ve firemní strategii, nastiňuji zde možná etická dilemata manažerů v informačním sektoru a nabízím možná řešení. Poslední část mé práce je tvořena etickými kodexy, poukazuji na význam etických kodexů a jejich reprezentativnost pro organizace a pozastavuji se u kodexů Asociace manažerů v české republice a světových organizací, jež zahrnují informační pracovníky. Jako příklad uvádím vybrané organizace a srovnávám pro názornost jejich etické kodexy.

Abstract:

Diploma thesis „ Managerial ethics for information professionals“ deals with the ethical environment in an information space. It describes the information work of management and possible ethical dilemmas, which employers have to face. In the beginning of my diploma thesis is a question how the ethics is important for the members of organization. The first chapter deals with basic foundation of ethics – its significance and evolution. Then I move to information ethics, which represents our attitude towards ethics in the information environment. Third chapter is devoted to information professionals and qualifications they should have as managers. Then I concentrate on the description of managerial ethics and its importance in the strategy of company. The chapter is focused on possible ethical dilemmas of managers in information sector and on their possible solutions. The last chapter of the thesis consists of codes of ethics, their importance and their representativeness for organizations and in this part I especially concentrate on the ethical codex of the Association of managers in the Czech Republic and other world organizations which employ information professionals. As an example I bring and compare codes of ethics of selected organizations.
