The balance of work and personal life of managers – comparing reality to ideal status

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje problematice slaďování pracovního a osobního života u manažerek a manažerů. Konkrétně se zaměřuje na porovnání ideálních představ tohoto sladění a momentální reality v pandemii způsobené onemocněním Covid-19. Práce se v úvodu věnuje vysvětlení termínu work-life balance a dalším teoretickým východiskům, jako souvislosti s pracovním výkonem, stresem a budováním mentální odolnosti. V teoretické části práce dále osvětluje i ukázku projektu korporátní společnosti na téma “stresu odolnost a wellbeing”. Práce dále osvětluje způsob a výstupy provedeného dotazníkového šetření, které srovnává realitu v pandemii s ideálním stavem a popisuje nejdůležitější faktory, které ovlivňují dosahování sladění práce a osobního života, vliv stresu a budování stresu odolnosti, jako hlavního faktoru při naplňování celkové životní spokojenosti. Pro doplnění tohoto šetření jsou v práci dále uvedeny tři rozhovory s manažerkami. V závěru, práce uvádí shrnutí šetření a možné návrhy na zlepšení tohoto sladění osobního a pracovního života manažerů.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis explores the issue of balancing the personal and work life of managers. Specifically focused on the comparison of an ideal status of this harmonization to the current reality in the pandemic caused by the disease Covid-19. The introduction explains the concept of worklife balance and other theoretical themes like the connection between work performance, stress and building mental resilience. In the theoretical part the thesis then shows a extract from a corporates project on the title “stress resilience and wellbeing”. The thesis next clarifies the ways and outputs of a questionnaire that was performed, which compares the reality of the pandemic with the ideal status and which analyzes most important factores for achieving work and life balance, the impact of stress and building stress resillience, as the main factor in achieving an overall life satisfaction. In adittion to this research are then presented three interviews with female managers. In the closing part, the thesis states the summary of the research and possible proposals for improvement of harmonization of the personal and work life of managers.
