A Contribution to the Problematics of Determination the Electronic Dance Music, Centred on Techno Music

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá problematikou elektronické taneční hudby, zejména se potom zaměřuje na její pod-žánr vznikající v 80. letech 20. století v Detroitu - techno. V první části nejprve popisuje, co je to elektronická taneční hudba, zajímá se o stručnou historii elektronické hudby, taneční hudby a s nimi spojeného hudebního průmyslu. Popisuje zásadní historické události a nejvýznamnější představitele. V další části se zabývá hudebními žánry disco, eurodisco, hi-energy, hip hop, electro, new wave, skupinou Kraftwerk a house, které stály na počátku elektronické taneční hudby a byly konkrétními hudebními zdroji techna. V poslední části popisuje počátky techna a jeho hlavní představitele, vznik označení techno, dále pak jeho šíření a ukotvení jako hudebního pod-žánru elektronické taneční hudby.

Abstract:

This paper deals with the problematics of the electronic dance music, in particular it focuses on its sub-genre rising in 1980’s in Detroit – techno music. In the first part it describes what the electronic dance music is, it is interested in a brief history of the electronic music, dance music and of the connected music industry. It describes the fundamental historical facts and the most significant representatives. In the next part it deals with the musical genres disco, eurodisco, hi-energy, hip hop, electro, new wave, Kraftwerk and house, that were at the beginning of the electronic dance music and were the concrete musical resources of techno music. In the last part it describes the beginnings of techno music and its main representatives, the born of the term techno music, next its spreading and the anchoring as the musical sub-genre of the electronic dance music.
