The use of AAC with a person who suffered a stroke

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá využitím alternativní a augmentativní komunikace u osoby po cévní mozkové příhodě. Hlavním cílem je analýza komunikačních schopností dané osoby za účelem nalezení vhodného způsobu komunikace. Práce je rozdělena na tři kapitoly. První dvě jsou teoretické a jsou dále rozděleny na tři podkapitoly. První část se zabývá problematikou seniorského věku a nemocemi, které se u seniorů objevují. Detailně je pak rozebrána afázie, její diagnostika a také terapie. Druhá kapitola se zabývá alternativní a augmentativní komunikací a systémům používaným osobami, které z různých důvodů nemohou využívat verbální komunikaci. Více se věnuje komunikačnímu deníku, který byl využit u výzkumného vzorku. Praktická část bakalářské práce je zpracována formou kvalitativního výzkumného šetření. Bylo využito technik pozorování, polostrukturovaného rozhovoru, analýzy slovní zásoby a také analýzy dokumentů týkající se výzkumného vzorku. Výsledky výzkumu jsou popsány v závěrech výzkumného šetření.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the option of the use of alternative and augmentative communication with a person who has suffered a stroke. The main goal is an analysis of communication abilities and to find an appropriate way to communicate with this person. The thesis is divided into three chapters. First two are theoretical and they are divided into three subchapters. First part deals with senior age and most common diseases that can affect seniors. Aphasia is described in more details together with the diagnostic procedure and therapy of aphasia. The second chapter inquires into the alternative and augmentative communication, describes communication systems that are used for people who can not talk for some reason. It also deals with the communication diary in more details since it was used for the research sample. Practical part of this bachelor thesis was processed in the form of qualitative research. The techniques that were used for this are monitoring, semi-structured interviews, vocabulary analysis and an analysis of the medical reports. Results of the research are described in the conclusions of the research.
