Leisure time educators - their work and professional development

Abstract:

Diplomová práce „Pedagogové volného času - jejich práce a profesní rozvoj“ pojed-nává, jak předurčuje vlastní název práce, o pedagozích volného času, resp. o jejich teoretické a faktické náplni práce v návaznosti na různé typy volnočasových institucí, právní aspekty pedagogické činnosti a kurikulární dokumenty jednotlivých institucí. Diplomová práce je rozdělena do dvou samostatných částí, a to části teoretické a části empirické. V teoretické části práce je proveden stručný nástin do problematiky pedagogiky volného času, včetně historického okénka a charakteristika pracovní pozice a profesní kvalifikace pedagoga volného času. Jsou kladeny a postupně zod-povídány následující otázky: Co je to volný čas? Kdo je pedagog volného času? Jaké je jeho vzdělání? Jak se dále profesně vzdělává a rozvíjí? Co je, či spíše má býti smys-lem a účelem jeho pedagogické činnosti? Zodpovězení těchto a dalších otázek je po-ložením teoretického základu pro empirickou část práce. Empirická část práce obsa-huje především zjištění, získaná za užití metod kvalitativního výzkumu, ve vztahu k reálné náplni práce pedagogů volného času. Výsledkem a přínosem diplomové prá-ce je důkladné posouzení, nakolik koresponduje faktická pedagogická činnost peda-goga volného času s teoreticky vymezeným ideálem činnosti pedagoga volného času, včetně zdůvodnění možných příčin zjištěných rozdílů.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis "Leisure time educators - their work and professional develop-ment" deals, as the title of the thesis predetermines, with leisure time educators, or their theoretical and factual work in relation to different types of leisure time institu-tions, legal aspects of pedagogical activity and curricular documents of individual institutions. The thesis is divided into two separate parts, namely a theoretical part and an empirical part. In the theoretical part of the thesis, a brief outline into the issues of leisure pedagogy is made, including a historical window and the character-istics of the job position and professional qualification of a leisure educator. The following questions are posed and answered in turn: what is leisure? Who is a lei-sure educator? What is his/her educational background? How does he/she continue his/her professional education and development? What is, or rather should be, the meaning and purpose of his pedagogical activity? Answering these and other ques-tions is laying the theoretical foundation for the empirical part of the thesis. The empirical part of the thesis contains mainly findings obtained using qualitative re-search methods in relation to the real work of leisure educators. The result and con-tribution of the thesis is a thorough assessment of the extent to which the actual pedagogical activity of a leisure educator corresponds with the theoretically defined ideal of the activity of a leisure educator, including the justification of possible rea-sons for the differences found.
