Intensity of trade with hi-tech commodities within the countries of the European Union

Abstract:

Bančák, J. Intenzita obchodu s hi-tech komoditami mezi zeměmi Evropské unie. Bakalářská práce. Brno: Mendelova univerzita v Brně, 2022. Bakalářská práce se zabývá měřením intenzity mezinárodního obchodu a komparativní výhody při mezinárodních tocích s high-tech komoditami u členských států Evropské unie. Teoretická část je věnována vymezení základních teorií mezinárodního obchodu a také základním pojmům z oblasti high-tech průmyslu. Dále jsou v teoretické části zhodnoceny možnosti měření intenzity mezinárodního obchodu a komparativní výhody. V praktické části je kvantifikována míra vnitro-odvětvového obchodu a komparativní výhody jednotlivých členských států Evropské unie, a to za pomocí Grubel-Lloyd indexu a Vollrathova RCA indexu. Závěr práce je věnován zhodnocení a porovnání hodnot zjištěných v rámci výzkumu.

Bančák, J. Intensity of trade with hi-tech commodities within the countries of the European Union. Brno: Mendel University in Brno, 2022. This bachelor’s thesis is dedicated to quantifying the intensity of international trade with high-tech commodities among member states of the European Union. The theoretical part is devoted to the definition of the basic theories of international trade as well as the basic terms from areas of high-tech industry. Furthermore, the possibilities of measuring the intensity of international trade and comparative advantages are evaluated in the theoretical part. In the practical part, the level of intra-industry trade and the comparative advantage of individual member states of the European Union are quantified, using the Grubel-Lloyd index and the Vollrath RCA index. The conclusion of the thesis is devoted to the evaluation and comparison of the values found in the research.
