Fundraising of a selected non-profit organization

Abstract:

Současná ekonomická situace celé společnosti má vliv na fungování neziskových organizací, jejichž existence záleží právě na pomoci od jejich podporovatelů. Proto za jednu z klíčových činností je pro ně považováno správné nastavení fundraisingové strategie. Cílem této práce je na základě literární rešerše oborových teorií zhodnotit současnou strategii neziskové organizace Klubu nemocných cystickou fibrózou a předložit návrhy na zlepšení. Tento cíl je naplněn jednotlivými metodami v analýze vnějšího okolí a vnitřních zdrojů podniku, ze kterých díky syntéze výsledků pomocí analýzy SWOT vyšla doporučená strategie WO, tedy eliminování slabých stránek pomocí příležitostí. Naplnění daných metod předložilo výsledky týkající se komunikace s dárci, medializace onemocnění a modernizace e-shopu organizace. Z těchto oblastí byly konstruovány doporučení ve formě úpravy emailové komunikace s dárci, formulace vize, rozšíření zdrojů získávání finančních prostředků o dárcovská centra krevní plazmy a úpravu sortimentu na e-shopu organizace. V případě aplikace jednotlivých doporučení do praxe bude umožněno pokračování v rozvoji organizace a rozšiřování tak množství dárců, díky kterým mohou naplnit jejich poslání.

Abstract:

The current economic situation of society as a whole has an impact on the functioning of non-profit organizations, whose existence depends on the help of their supporters. Therefore, one of the key activities for them is considered to be the right fundraising strategy. The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the current strategy of the non-profit organization called the Czech Cystic Fibrosis Association based on a literature search of the field theories and to make suggestions for improvement. This objective is fulfilled by the different methods in the analysis of the external environment and internal resources of the company, from which, thanks to the synthesis of the results using SWOT analysis, the recommended WO strategy, i.e. eliminating weaknesses by means of opportunities, emerged. The fulfillment of the given methods presented results concerning communication with donors, media coverage of the disease, and modernization of the organization's e-shop. From these areas, recommendations were constructed in the form of modifying email communication with donors, formulating a vision statement, expanding fundraising sources to include blood plasma donor centers, and modifying the assortment on the organization's e-store. If each recommendation is put into practice, it will allow the organization to continue to grow and expand the number of donors that allow them to fulfill their mission.
