Effect of cytokinin antagonists on axillary bud release from apical dominance

Abstract:

Ve své bakalářské práci jsem se věnoval tématu vlivu antagonistů cytokininů na uvolňování axilárních pupenů z apikální dominance. Vlastní experiment jsme pro co největší množství dat prováděli v různých variantách. Jednotlivé varianty se mezi sebou lišily v aplikaci experimentální látky. Látka se zkráceně jmenuje LGR-991. Jedná se o nový experiment mezi potencionálními inhibitory vyrůstání axilárních pupenů. Jedná se o látku, které ovlivňují příjem cytokininů na úrovni jejich receptorů. Tyto pokusy byly hlavně zaměřeny k uvolňování axilárních pupenů, jenž jsou pod inhibičním vlivem apikální dominance. Apikální dominance je dobře prozkoumaný jev na rostlině kdy apikální (vrcholový) pupen je rostlinou upřednostňován, zato axilární (boční) pupeny jsou rostlinou přirozeně inhibovány. Dekapitací (odříznutí apikálního vrcholu) je toto možné změnit a iniciovat vyrůstání inhibovaných pupenů. Ve své práci se blíže věnuji tématům jednotlivých faktorů, které mohou rostlinné větvení ovlivňovat jak pozitivně, tak negativně.

Abstract:

In my bachelor thesis I focused on the influence of cytokinin antagonists on the release of axillary buds from apical dominance. The actual experiment was performed in different variations for the greatest amount of data. The different variants differed from each other in the application of the experimental substance. The substance is abbreviated as LGR-991. It is a new experiment among potential inhibitors of axillary bud outgrowth. It is a substance that affects the uptake of cytokinins at the level of their receptors. These experiments were mainly directed towards the release of axillary buds, which are under the inhibitory influence of apical dominance. Apical dominance is a well-studied phenomenon in the plant where the apical (apical) bud is preferred by the plant, while the axillary (lateral) buds are naturally inhibited by the plant. By decapitation (cutting off the apical apex) it is possible to change this and initiate the growth of the inhibited buds. In my thesis, I am looking more closely at the topics of individual factors that can influence plant branching both positively and negatively.
