Anotace:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá předmluvou Marie de Gournay k Esejům Michela de Montaigne z roku 1595. Cílem této práce je systematicky představit argumenty v Předmluvě a posoudit, zda odpovídají Esejům a kritice, které čelily. Vedlejšími cíli této práce je porovnat různá vydání Předmluvy a zkoumat Předmluvu z pohledu ženy píšící v 16. století.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is concerned with Marie de Gournay’s 1595 Preface to the Essays of Michel de Montaigne. This thesis aims to systematically present the arguments in the Preface and assess whether they correspond to the Essays and the criticism they faced. The secondary goals of this thesis are to compare various editions of the Preface and examine the Preface from the perspective of a woman writing in the 16th century France.
