Anticipated changes in inflation rate after adopting the euro in the Czech republic

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se bude zabývat komplexní analýzou současné vysoké inflace v České republice především v návaznosti na aktuální přírodní a geopolitické katastrofy (pandemie Covidu-19, ruská agrese na Ukrajině). Jelikož akcelerace inflace v tuzemsku začala při srovnání s ostatními státy EU dříve a vyvíjela se hůře, budou také rozebrány možné důvody této problematiky. Dále bude diskutován vývoj mínění české veřejnosti na přijetí eura. Přijetí společné evropské měny bude dále analyzováno především s ohledem na dopady na vnímanou a reálnou míru inflace. Bude diskutován a vzájemně porovnán vývoj inflace v „nových“ a „starých“ státech eurozóny po přijetí eura a její vývoj v současné ekonomicky a politicky náročné situaci. Nakonec bude na základě výše uvedených analýz a komparací vytvořena predikce vývoje inflačního prostředí v České republice po zavedení eura.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis will comprehensively analyse the current high inflation rate in the Czech republic mainly according to the current natural and geopolitical disasters (Covid-19 pandemic, Russian aggression in Ukraine). Since the acceleration of inflation in the Czech republic has in comparison with other EU countries started earlier and followed a worse course, possible causes for these issues will be evaluated. Furthermore, the public opinion on adopting euro in the Czech republic will be discussed. The perceived and real inflation rates of adopting euro will be analysed. The changes in inflation rates of the „old“ and „new“ eurozone countries after adopting euro will be discussed and compared. Subsequently the contemporary inflation rates will be compared and analysed between these countries and the Czech republic, respectively. In the end based on the above-mentioned comparisons and analyses a prediction of possible inflation development in the Czech republic after adopting euro will be established.
