The use of non-traditional feeds with potentially beneficial effects in the nutrition of non-ruminant animals

Abstract:

Habilitační práce pojednává o využití netradičních krmiv, jako jsou pšenice s různou barvou obilky, nažky kmínu kořenného, pokrutiny ze semen technického konopí setého a ostropestřece mariánského a o využití surovin z hmyzu, ve výživě nepřežvýkavých zvířat. Zkrmování pšenic s různou barvou zrna nemělo vliv na parametry užitkovosti brojlerových kuřat. Chemické složení prsní a stehenní svaloviny bylo u všech skupin vyrovnané. Živá hmotnost vykrmovaných kuřat se mezi skupinami významně nelišila, podobně jako jatečná výtěžnost. Zařazení podílu pšenice PS Karkulka v dietě brojlerových králíků se jeví být bezpečné. V této studii nebyly zaznamenány rozdíly v konverzi krmiva, výtěžnosti jatečně upraveného těla ani antioxidační aktivitě krevní plazmy. Biochemický profil krve králíků nebyl krmným ošetřením ovlivněn. Ve studii na laboratorních potkanech bylo prokázáno, že dieta bohatá na antokyany moduluje antioxidační status organismu a jaterní mikrozomální xenobiotika-metabolizující systém cytochromů P450 způsobem, který se jeví být bezpečný. Zařazení 15 % pokrutin ze semen konopí setého technického do diet vykrmovaných kuřat způsobilo nižší konečnou živou hmotnost ve srovnání s kontrolní skupinou, přičemž zkoumané ukazatele jakosti a senzorických vlastností svaloviny nebyly ovlivněny. V experimentu s podílem pokrutin ze semen ostropestřece byl také zjištěn negativní vliv na růst kuřat. Ve skupině MT5 a MT15 (5 a 15 % pokrutin v dietě) byla zjištěna významně vyšší křehkost prsní svaloviny ve srovnání s kontrolní skupinou. Perspektivní výsledky byly zjištěny zařazením 7 % pokrutin ze semen ostropestřce mariánského do diety nosnic za vrcholem snášky. Po 69. týdnu věku nosnic bylo v pokusné skupině dosaženo vyššího počtu vajec a bylo vyprodukováno více vaječné hmoty ve srovnání s kontrolní skupinou. V experimentální skupině byla zjištěna vyšší antioxidační aktivita krevní plazmy, vyšší Haughovy jednotky, vyšší milimetrová výška bílku, ale tenčí skořápka. Podíl 1 % kmínu kořenného v dietách rychle a pomalu rostoucích brojlerových kuřat neovlivnil parametry užitkovosti, biochemický profil krve ani relativní velikost orgánů. V pokusu s pomalu rostoucími brojlery byl zjištěn rozdíl ve výšce klků a hloubce krypt z ilea u pokusné skupiny v srovnání se skupinou kontrolní. Moučka z larev potemníka moučného negativně neovlivňuje mikrobiální stabilitu experimentálních krmiv, která byla skladována čtyři měsíce. V experimentu bylo zjištěno, že 2% a 5% podíl moučky z larev potemníka moučného v dietách nosnic neovlivnil délku klků ilea ani mikrobiom slepého střeva. Zároveň byla zjištěna nejvyšší viskozita tráveniny ilea ve skupině TM5 (5% podíl), což může naznačovat pomalejší průchod tráveniny trávicím traktem. Podíl moučky z larev potemníka moučného v dávkách 2 % a 5 % v krmné směsi nezhoršil chemické složení ani senzorické vlastnosti stehenní svaloviny brojlerů, což odráží optimální senzorické kvalitativní znaky. Prsní svalovina kuřat kontrolní skupiny byla lépe hodnocena v deskriptoru chuti ve srovnání s experimentálními skupinami kuřat, které přijímaly 2 % a 5 % moučky. Zařazení netradičních krmiv do krmných dávek nepřežvýkavých zvířat je možné, je však důležité mít na paměti, že za určitých podmínek mohou tato krmiva ovlivnit růst a užitkovost zvířat a kvalitu masa či vajec.

Abstract:

The habilitation thesis deals with the use of non-traditional feedstuffs, such as wheat with different grain colors, caraway seeds, hemp and milk thistle seeds cakes, and the use of insect meal in the nutrition of non-ruminant animals. Feeding wheat with differ-ent grain color had no effect on performance parameters of broiler chickens. The chemi-cal composition of breast and thigh muscles was equal in all groups. Live weight and carcass yield of broiler chickens did not differ significantly between groups. The inclu-sion of PS Karkulka wheat in the diet of broiler rabbits appears to be safe. No differences in feed conversion ratio, carcass yield, or blood plasma antioxidant activity were noted in this study. The biochemical profile of the blood of the rabbits was not affected by the feeding treatment. In a study in laboratory rats, a diet rich in anthocyanins was shown to modulate the antioxidant status and the hepatic microsomal xenobiotic-metabolizing cytochrome P450 system in a way that appears to be safe. The inclusion of 15% of tech-nical hemp seeds expellers in the diets of fattened chickens caused a lower final live weight in comparison with the control group, while the examined indicators of quality and sensory properties of the muscle were not affected. A negative effect on the growth of chickens was also found in the experiment with the proportion of milk thistle seed cakes. A significantly higher tenderness of the breast meat was found in the MT5 and MT15 groups (5 and 15%, respectively) compared to the control group. Prospective re-sults were found with including of 7% milk thistle seed cakes in the diet of laying hens after the peak of laying. After 69 weeks of laying hens age, a higher number of eggs was achieved in the experimental group and more egg mass was produced compared to the control group. In the experimental group, a higher antioxidant activity of the blood plasma, higher Haugh units, a higher millimeter height of the albumen, but a thinner shell was found. The proportion of 1% caraway in the diets of fast- and slow-growing broiler chickens did not affect performance parameters, blood biochemical profile or relative organ size. In an experiment with slow-growing broilers, a difference was found in the height of the villi and the depth of the crypts from the ileum in the experimental group compared to the control group. The inclusion of mealworm meal does not negatively affect the microbial stability of experimental feeds that have been stored for four months. In the experiment, it was found that 2% and 5% of mealworm meal in the diets of laying hens did not affect the length of the ileal villi or the cecal microbiome. At the same time, the highest viscosity of ileal digesta was found in the TM5 group (5% share), which may indicate a slower passage of digestate through the digestive tract. The pro-portion of mealworm meal of 2% and 5% in the diets did not worsen the chemical com-position or sensory properties of the thigh meat of broilers, which reflects optimal senso-ry quality characteristics. The breast meat of chickens of the control group was rated better in the flavour descriptor compared to the experimental groups of chickens that received 2% and 5% meal. The inclusion of non-traditional feeds in the rations of non-ruminant animals is possible, but it is important to remember that under certain condi-tions these feeds can affect the growth and performance of animals and the quality of meat or eggs.
