Modeling tools for 3D printing

Abstract:

Diplomová práce Modelovací nástroje pro 3D tisk se zabývá aktuálním tématem modelovacích nástrojů používaných v oblasti domácího 3D tisku. Teoretická část diplomové práce se zaměřuje na představení 3D tisku čtenáři, na uvedení známých metod 3D tisku a materiálů používaných v tomto oboru. Hlavním cílem a náplní praktické části diplomové práce je analyzovat a následně porovnat návrhové a modelovací nástroje vhodné pro uživatele z oboru 3D tisku. Tyto nástroje byly vybrány na základě nejvyšší četnosti výskytů v doporučeních informačních zdrojů za současné podmínky, že daný nástroj je k dispozici zdarma. Každý nástroj je podrobně popsán a rozebrány jsou způsoby manipulace s objektem v pracovním prostředí nástroje. Součástí analýzy je následné porovnání práce s jednotlivými nástroji při ukázkovém vytvoření stejného modelu ve všech těchto programech. v práci je popsáno workflow vytvoření modelu v každém z analyzovaných programů, aby bylo možné pokus zopakovat. Výstupy této analýzy obsahují shrnutí práce s jednotlivými nástroji a doporučení pro potencionálního uživatele softwaru. Toto doporučení je cíleno především na začínající uživatele v oblasti 3D tisku.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis Modeling tools for 3D printing deals with the current topic of modeling tools used in the field of home 3D printing. The theoretical part of the diploma thesis focuses on the introduction of 3D printing to the reader, on the introduction of known methods of 3D printing and materials used in this field. The main goal and content of the practical part of the thesis is to analyze and then compare design and modeling tools suitable for users in the field of 3D printing. These tools were selected on the basis of the highest frequency of occurrences in the recommendations of information sources under current condition that the tool is available free of charge. Each tool is described in detail and the ways of manipulating the object in the working environment of the tool are discussed. Part of the analysis is the subsequent comparison of work with individual tools in a sample creation of the same model in all these programs. The thesis describes the workflow of creating a model in each of the analyzed programs in order to be able to repeat the attempt. The outputs of this analysis contain a summary of work with individual tools and recommendations for potential software users. This recommendation is aimed primarily at novice users in the field of 3D printing.
