Complementary method of pronunciation teaching

Abstract:

Téma bakalářské práce je doplňková metoda pro výuku výslovnosti. Úvodní část obsahuje relevantní teorii k tématu a zmiňuje dostupné a používané přístupy při výuce anglické výslovnosti. U každého přístupu je rovněž výčet výhod a nevýhod použití v praxi. Navazující část práce navrhuje využití záznamu lidského hlasu jako další z možností výuky výslovnosti. Na vzorku dobrovolníků ukazuje, analyzuje a hodnotí dosažené výsledky, uvádí výhody a nevýhody navrhované metody včetně možnosti praktického použití. Navrhovaná metoda vychází z použití nejjednodušší techniky s ohledem na dostupnost, náklady na pořízení i nároky na obsluhu. Zároveň studentům poskytuje kvalitní a dostatečnou zpětnou vazbu nutnou pro další zdokonalení. Cílem bakalářské práce je dokázat že zpětná vazba je jedním z klíčových momentů v procesu učení. V oblasti výuky výslovnosti lze zpětnou vazbu substituovat nahrávkou a analýzou vlastního hlasu.

Abstract:

The focus of this bachelor thesis is a complementary method for pronunciation teaching. The introductory part contains the associated theory and summarizes available and frequently used pronunciation teaching approaches with its advantages and disadvantages. The following part of the thesis proposes another method of pronunciation teaching, analyses the use of the method on a sample of volunteers, mentions and analyses achieved goals and evaluates its advantages, disadvantages and possibilities of usage. The proposed method is focused on pronunciation teaching using the help of any simple and basic recording tool that provides clear feedback to the students through hearing themselves talking and thus adds a moment of self-reflection. The aim of the thesis is to show that the method of self-reflection is an inseparable part of teaching. In the area of pronunciation teaching the self-reflection can be achieved by the element of hearing oneself talk from the recording.
