Abstract:

Diplomová práce Obraz kurátora poukazuje na fenomén role kurátora současného výtvarného umění. Aktualizuje veřejností známé definice na současných příkladech výstavních konceptů, především se soustředí na českou výtvarnou scénu. Rámec tématu doplňuje o vhled do celosvětové historie výstavnictví a současně nabízí i příklady kurátorských výstavních konceptů z 80. a 90. let 20. století realizovaných na našem území, tedy v období, kdy se v Československu formovala pozice kurátora. Práce polemizuje o možnostech a pravomoci kurátora, přičemž srovnává různá možná výchozí stanoviska. Vychází z předpokladu, že (mimo jiné) kurátor je tvůrčí povolání a výsledkem jeho práce je tvorba výstavních konceptů.

Abstract:

Diploma thesis The Curator's Picture / The Picture of the Curator illustrates the phenomenon of the role of curator of contemporary art. It updates well-known definitions on current examples of exhibition concepts, focusing primarily on the Czech art scene. The framework of this topic is complemented with insight into the (world) history of exhibitions and at the same time offers examples of curatorial exhibition concepts from the 1980s and 1990s which were realized in our country, that is, at the time when position of the curator was founded in Czechoslovakia. The thesis argues about the curator's possibilities and powers, comparing various possible starting points. Thesis is based on the assumption that (among others) being a curator is creative occupation and the result of his work is to create the exhibition concept.
