Development of foreign agri-food trade of the Czech Republic with selected countries

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá analýzou agrárního zahraničního obchodu ČR. Součástí práce je i charakteristika zahraničního obchodu ČR jako celku. Základní ukazatele jako export, import, obrat, obchodní bilance, index krytí importu exportem, index obchodní bilance, index míry otevřenosti ekonomiky charakterizují a identifikují tendence a pozici českého agrárního zahraničního obchodu. Mimo jiné je provedena analýza teritoriální a komoditní struktury českého agrárního obchodu. Po analýze základních ukazatelů je zhodnocena konkurenceschopnost agrárního obchodu ČR se sousedními zeměmi na základě tzv. Balassova indexu specializace. Analýza je provedena ve sledovaném časovém období 2002 – 2016. Data jsou čerpána primárně z Eurostatu.

Abstract:

The aim of the diploma thesis is to analyze agrarian foreign trade of the Czech Republic. Part of the work also analyze the main characteristics of foreign trade of the Czech Republic as a whole. Basic indicators such as exports, imports, turnover, trade balance, trade coverage index, trade balance index, trade-to-GDP ratio aim to characterize and to identify the tendency and position of Czech agrarian foreign trade. Among other things, the territorial and commodity structure of the Czech agrarian trade was analyzed. After the analysis of basic indicators, there was evaluated the competitiveness of the Czech agricultural trade with neighboring countries on the basis of the so-called Balassa index of specialization. The analysis was performed in the monitored period 2002 – 2016. The data were usually drawn from Eurostat.
