Place Names in the Region of Jindřichův Hradec

Abstract:

This thesis deals with a general overview of the linguistic-onomastic basis of settlement naming. Furthermore, it deals with geographic and historical characteristics of selected settlements around the town of Jindřichův Hradec. Most importantly, it describes the linguistic evolution and original meanings of the names of these particular settlements.

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá obecným přehledem jazykově-onomastických základů k pojmenování sídel. Dále geografickými a historickými charakteristikami vybraných sídel v okolí města Jindřichova Hradce a především pak popisem jazykového vývoje a původních významů jednotlivých jmen těchto sídel.
