Trusted Platform Module and Its Emulation

Abstract:

The goal of this bachelor's thesis is to offer and compare option in the form of emulator for programmers, who have interest in developing applications for Trusted Platform Module (TPM) but who don't have the opportunity to work directly with its hardware implementation. The thesis will firstly introduce the TPM and its questions and will explain principles of its operation to the reader. The following part of the thesis which describes the TPM emulator should help reader with the preparations of the whole system to work with the TPM emulator and needed communication interface. The result of procedure presented in this part should be the system prepared for progress and testing of applications for TPM. In the end the thesis will compare and review the emulator and hardware implementation of TPM with the help of pack of tests.

Abstract:

Úlohou tejto bakalárskej práce je poskytnúť a porovnať alternatívu v podobe emulátora pre programátorov, ktorí majú záujem vyvíjať aplikácie pre Trusted Platform Module (TPM), ale zároveň nemajú možnosť pracovať priamo s jeho hardvérovou implementáciou. Skôr, než sa práca začne zaoberať emuláciou TPM, zoznámi čitateľa s problematikou TPM a vysvetlí princípy jeho činnosti. Nasledujúca časť práce, ktorá sa zaoberá emulátorom TPM, by mala poslúžiť čitateľovi k príprave celého systému na prácu s emulátorom TPM a potrebným komunikačným rozhraním. Výsledkom postupu uvedeného v tejto časti by mal byť systém pripravený na vývoj a testovanie aplikácií pre TPM. V závere práca porovná a zhodnotí emulátor a hardvérovú implementáciu TPM s pomocou sady testov.
