Political trials of the 1950s in Czechoslovakia

Abstract:

Práce pojednává o politických procesech 50. let v Československu. Zabývá se primárně obdobím, jež bylo z hlediska procesů nejvýznamnější, tedy lety 1948-1954, ale popisuje i situaci, která vzniku procesů předcházela a také průběh následných rehabilitací. Kromě obecného popisu politických procesů, jejich kvantifikace a rozdělení obsahuje práce i vývoj právních norem a některé změny v oblasti soudnictví, k nimž v daném období došlo. Popsána je i činnost Státní bezpečnosti a sovětských poradců. Celý průběh procesu od počátku vyšetřování až po rehabilitaci je pak přímo demonstrován na procesu z Koubalovy Lhoty.

Abstract:

The thesis describes the political trials of the 1950s in Czechoslovakia. It is primarily focused on the period which was the most important in terms of political trials, ie 1948-1954, but also describes the situation that preceded the formation of trials and the subsequent rehabilitation. In addition to the general description of political trials, their quantification and division, the thesis also includes the development of legal norms and some of the changes implemented during this period. The activities of the State Security and Soviet Advisors are also described. The entire course of the trial since the beginning of the investigation to the rehabilitation is accurately demonstrated on the trial from Koubalova Lhota.
