Expressing Political Opinions in Hip Hop Music
Abstract:
Cílem této práce je ukázat, že rap může být pojat jako zdroj informací, který seznamuje své posluchače převážně s politickými a sociálními otázkami týkajícími se zejména afroamerické komunity. Jako primární zdroje jsou použity písňové texty, které se soustředí hlavně na témata stereotypů, období Baracka Obamy, otroctví, rasismu a sociální a rasové rovnosti.
Abstract:
The aim of the thesis is to display rap music as a source of information which apprises of political and social issues in association with Afro-Americans. As primary sources are used lyrics of rap songs focusing on themes of stereotypes, the Obama era, slavery, racism, and social and racial equity.
