Evropský pohled na Novou hedvábnou stezku: jedná se o čínský soft-power nástroj?

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce předkládá evropský pohled na nově vzniklou čínskou iniciativu Nové hedvábné stezky. Předmětem této diplomové práce je nalézt odpověď na otázku, jakým způsobem nahlíží Evropská unie na fenomén Nové hedvábné stezky a do jaké míry tato iniciativa přispívá ke zlepšení čínské soft power. Diplomová práce se snaží přiblížit, zda Nová hedvábná stezka přinesla zlepšení vnímání Činy na základě mediální analýzy. Teoretická část se snaží vymezit teoretické zakotvení soft power a snaží se nastínit jaká je evropská percepce vůči Číně. Teoretická část dále usiluje o vyjasnění klíčových konceptů a variací Nové hedvábné stezky s ohledem na výzkumné šetření, které je provedeno v analytické části práce. Získané poznatky mají za cíl zodpovědět na výzkumnou otázku, jak Evropská unie vnímá inciativu Nové hedvábné stezky a do jaké míry tato globální iniciativa přispívá ke zlepšení soft power Číny. Výzkumná část se věnuje analýze mediálního diskurzu ve vybraných zemích, kde je analyzováno více než šest set článků, které se týkají problematiky Nové hedvábné stezky.

Abstract:

China’s rise raised negative emotions within the international area. China makes an effort to rebrand the country’s image through soft power and position itself as a responsible and attractive international partner. This thesis aims to shed light on European perception towards China’s global project Belt and Road Initiative, mainly how BRI is perceived in the EU through media analysis and how BRI contributed to the improvement of Chinese soft power. The primary objective of this research is to find an answer what is the EU perception towards Belt and Road Initiative and how has BRI contributed to the improvement of China’s soft power. The theoretical part defines the European perception of China in the framework of the EU-China relations. In this context, the global phenomenon BRI is defined. This description of the actions of the ground addresses to narrative what new brought BRI into the image of China. The practical part deals with media discourse analysis in selected countries. More than six hundred articles related to BRI were analysed.
