Tension between Traditional and Modern Live Style in Native American Fiction
The tension between tradition and modern times in Native American fiction. This bachelor thesis will analyze the tensions of young Native Americans between the traditional live in reservation and modern times in the work of ALEXIE Sherman: Flight (2007) and The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian (2007), his autobiographical novel which won The National Book Award price for Young People´s literature in 2007.
Abstract:
The overall aim of my bachelor thesis is to analyze the importance of traditional Native American family in two novels for young adult readers Flight and Absolutely Truth Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie.
