Evaluation of movement program application on the persons with mental disabilities.

Abstract:

Cílem mé práce bylo pozorování jedinců při aplikaci pohybového programu a následné zjištění možného ovlivňování člověka s mentálním postižením s očekávanými účinky na rozvoj jejich psychické stránky a hrubé i jemné motoriky. Současně jsem se zaměřila na porovnání účinnosti pohybového programu mezi mentálně postiženými dospělými z Domova svaté Rodiny a stejně tak postiženými dětmi ze Základní školy speciální a Základní školy praktické v Horním Slavkově. Využila jsem cvičení na velkých míčích. Zkoumaný soubor tvořili 2 ženy a 4 muži. Díky cvičení jsem vnesla do života mentálně postižených osob trochu optimismu a především radosti ze samotného pohybu. Poukázala jsem na to, že i mentálně postižení jedinci mohou prožívat plnohodnotněji svůj život, a že pravidelným, odborně vedeným cvičením, jsou schopni učit se novým dovednostem, zvyšovat svoji fyzickou zdatnost, prožívat radost a uspokojení z pohybové činnosti a tím získávat prospěch zdravotní, duchovní i sociální.

Abstract:

The purpose of my work was to observe individuals during the application of movement program and subsequent detection of its possible influence on the persons with mental disabilities, with the anticipated effects on the development of their psychological characteristics and the gross or fine motor skills. At the same time I was also focusing on the comparison between the effect of the movement program on mentally handicapped adults in the Holy Family Home and the children from the Special Primary School and Practical Primary School in Horní Slavkov, which are suffering with the same handicap. To do that, I used exercises with the large exercise balls. The observed group consisted of 2 women and 4 men. With my exercise, I brought a little bit optimism into the life of mentally handicapped people and above all, I brought them the joy of movement itself. I have pointed to the fact that even the mentally handicapped individuals can experience a fully enjoyable life and that with the regular, professionally-led exercises they are able to learn new skills, they can improve their physical fitness, experience the joy and satisfaction from physical activities, which provide them with the health, spiritual, as well as social benefits.
