Investiture controversy

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářská práce bylo zpracování jednotlivých fází boje o investituru, který probíhal na přelomu 11. a 12. století, vysvětlení základních právních a ideových komponentů konfliktu. Tento spor probíhal v letech 1075-1122, kdy byl ukončen Wormským konkordátem listinami papeže Kalixta II. a císaře Svaté říše římské Jindřicha V. Hlavními představiteli tohoto sporu byli papež Řehoř VII. a císař Svaté říše římské Jindřich IV. Práce je rozdělena na tři části, každá se skládá z několika kapitol. V první části práce jsem popisovala situaci v říši za vlády sálské dynastie (s ohledem na vzrůstající moc římské církve). Tato část začíná nástupem sálské dynastie na německý trůn a končí rokem 1106, kdy se k moci dostal poslední představitel tohoto rodu Jindřich V. Druhá kapitola nastiňuje situaci v církvi od pontifikátu papeže Lva IX. až do získání papežské hodnosti arcijáhenem Hildebrandem (papežem Řehořem VII.). Také v této kapitole jsem popsala poměry v církvi - rozkol v církvi (během nárokování tří papežů na papežský trůn), clunyjské a lotrinské hnutí. Poslední třetí kapitola je věnována samotnému sporu o investituru od roku 1075, kdy byl vydán dokument Dictatus papae, až po rok 1122, kdy byl spor ukončen Wormským konkordátem.

Abstract:

The aim of Bachelor´s work was process the various stages of the investiture controversy, which waged on the turn of the 11th and 12th century, explaining the basic components of legal and ideological conflict. This controversy took place between years 1075-1122, when the Concordat of Worms was ended documents of Pope Kalixt II and Holy Roman Emperor Henry V The main representatives of this conflict were Pope Gregory VII and Holy Roman Emperor Henry IV. Work is devided into three parts, each of them consists of several chapters. In the first part, I described the situation in the empire of Salian dynasty (with regard for the growing power of the Roman Church). This part begins with the accession to the throne of the German countries of the Salian dynasty and ended in the year 1106, when it came to power last representative of this dynasty Henry V. The second chapter outlines the situation in the Church since the pontificate of Pope Leo IX to obtain the rank of archdeacon of Pope Hildebrand (Pope Gregory VII). Also in this chapter, I described the situation in the Church - a split in the Church (when the three popes claiming the papal throne), Cluniac and Lorraine movement. The third and last chapter is devoted to the investiture controversy since the year 1075, when has been issued Dictatus papae. This conflict was ended the Concordat of Worms to the year 1122.
